Who we are
SCT is a specialist underground geotechnical engineering firm, wholly owned by its staff and operating since 1989. The team spans engineers, researchers, field specialists and support professionals working across investigation, measurement, modelling and advice — on problems that range from stress characterisation in deep hard rock mines to subsidence assessment in active coalfields. It is an environment where technical rigour is the standard and the people who do the work are among the most experienced in the field.
What we stand for
Sound decisions about underground excavation require measurement, modelling and engineering judgement applied together. SCT invests in research because it makes the practice better, stays close to the problems it works on because that proximity is what makes the advice useful, and holds every role — technical or otherwise — to that standard.
