SCT

Complex ground conditions demand critical decisions. SCT measures what matters and understands what it means. Providing clarity in uncertain ground.

SCT starts with the ground behaviour and the decisions in front of you. We reduce uncertainty so you can choose the next step with confidence.

Uncertain ground,
real consequences

01 Consulting

SCT’s consulting clarifies ground conditions and supports risk management. Combining data, modelling and engineering judgement so analysis leads to confident, practical decisions.

02 Field Services

Field data is most valuable when it is collected with the decision in mind. SCT designs and delivers field programs that measure the right things, in the right way, so the results can support decisions.

03 Instrumentation

Reliable monitoring of roof, rib and tunnel behaviour, built on decades of experience and backed by engineers who understand what the data means.

04 Technical Papers

SCT's research is produced alongside the work, drawn from active field programs and ground behaviour encountered on live projects.

The conditions we understand

  • Underground
Coal Mining

From feasibility to operational support, including mine design, numerical modelling, longwall and caving geomechanics, subsidence engineering, and strata control.

  • Underground Hard
Rock Mining

In situ stress measurement, caving geomechanics, ground support design and monitoring instrumentation for managing complex, highly stressed rock masses.

  • Tunnelling and underground infrastructure

Ground characterisation, design studies, instrumentation and monitoring to manage geotechnical risk in tunnelling and underground infrastructure.

  • Surface and Open
Cut Mining

Numerical modelling, slope assessment and stability monitoring, and hydrogeological investigation for surface and open cut operations.

Sample case study

An Australian exploration site needed to understand the in-situ stress in the rockmass. In early investigations for mines, tunnels, hydro projects and underground storage the data shapes feasibility, risk and design decisions. Using the ANZI Strain Cell in a standard HQ borehole and a wireline-enabled overcoring system, SCT delivered multiple high confidence three-dimensional measurements from surface approaching 1,000km deep.
